How to Transport Your Bird When the Cold Weather Sets In

You have a bird and you're wondering what's the best way to transport it outside during our harsh winters? It's important to remember that birds are sensitive to temperature variations and vulnerable to the cold. Read on to find out how to keep Coco warm!

Step 1: Start your car with the heating turned up to the maximum a few minutes before you leave.

Step 2: Place a preheated magic bag or a hot-water bottle under the cage.

Step 3: Place the magic bag/bottle in the bottom of a box; put the cage on top and pad the sides to prevent it from moving inside in the box. If your cage doesn't fit into a box, you can proceed to step 5.

Step 4: Close the box so that air can circulate inside, allowing your bird to breathe easily.

Step 5: Wrap the box or cage in a blanket, which you can also warm up beforehand.

Step 6: If your cage doesn't fit into a box, we recommend covering the blanket with a plastic bag to create a wind barrier while you walk to your car. Once you're in the car and it's nice and warm, you can open the blanket and/or plastic bag a little.

And there you have it, your bird will stay nice and warm throughout the ride!
