Technical Assistant Team Leader

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region.

Responsible on the floor, you play an indispensable role within your team. Supported by the manager, you ensure that operations run smoothly and that our work methods, health and safety rules and exemplary service are actively applied.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervising the team of assistant technicians
• Ensuring the daily management of his/her team members (supervising the floor, answering questions/complaints in person or by email, etc.)
• Carrying out the entire hiring process (planning, posting, integration and onboarding)
• Following on new employees’ work progress and making the necessary adjustments
• Planning and conducting performance appraisals for the team of assistant technicians and during their probationary period
• Managing daily absences and ensuring appropriate follow-ups
• In collaboration with the general manager, identifying employee training needs and planning training sessions to keep assistant technicians’ skills up to date
• Developing and updating work protocols for the smooth performance of his/her teams
• Developing action plans and meeting with teams after having identified the various needs and potential issues
• Identifying, training, and motivating key team members and ensuring proper succession management
• Planning, hosting and providing follow-ups on assistant technician team meetings
• Ensuring a sense of organizational equity among his/her teams
• Performing any other relevant task

 

Requirements:

• Bilingual (French and English);
• Experience in the veterinary field and / or other related field (an asset);
