Nail caps are small plastic wrappers that cover each of the claws making them less sharp, but still functional! They are glued directly onto the freshly trimmed claw with a glue that is non-toxic to animals. Available in clear or coloured versions, there is a large selection of nail caps that you can choose to suit your preferences (or those of your cat). When properly installed, these protective caps stay in place for 4 to 6 weeks.<\/p>\n
How do you install nail caps on you cat\u2019s paws? <\/strong><\/h4>\nOption 1: do it yourself, at home <\/strong><\/h5>\nWith a bit of patience (both from you and the cat!), nail caps can be relatively easy to put on. Here\u2019s how to proceed:<\/p>\n
\n- Trim the cat\u2019s nail to make sure it\u2019s not too short, not too long \u2013 allowing the cap to stay on longer.<\/li>\n
- Once you\u2019re ready to apply the cap onto the nail, fill it with glue up to about 1\/3.<\/li>\n
- Insert the claw inside the cap and gently press on each side (as long as your cat allows it). There\u2019s no need to hold the claw for a long time, the glue will dry almost immediately!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
