Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 2 emergency and reference centres open 24/7, 1 emergency and reference centre open 7/7 and 25 general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie and Quebec region.

Through your leadership, your versatility and your level of management, you work to deploy the vision, as well as the development and strategic management of the Center Vétérinaire Rive Sud. In collaboration with the management team and the administrative team, you are responsible for ensuring that operational controls and administrative procedures are in place to ensure the financial growth and operational efficiency of the center. You must offer support and support to the members of the different teams. Working with a partially unionized team, you make sure to maintain and optimize collaboration between teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

In collaboration with the human resources team:

  • Ensure sound management of teams and their members (foster a respectful and effective approach to work expectations, disciplinary/administrative measures and other employee-related events)
  • Grow employees by identifying their potential and ensuring their development (talent management, skills development, succession plan, coaching, training plan, etc.)
  • Manage the performance of its teams and do the appropriate follow-ups
  • Promote employee retention by focusing on their commitment through the establishment of a positive and development-oriented work environment
  • Make sure to maintain an active employee recognition plan
  • Manage the various conflicts and see to the mobilization of the various teams
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the center is a healthy and safe environment, in accordance with the laws and the values ​​of the company
  • Supervise a team of 10 team leaders and coordinators

 

Finances and Controls:

  • Ensure the profitability of the company and its growth in collaboration with the shareholders
  • Develop budgets and business plans and monitor them regularly with the management team
  • Implement and monitor control measures so that invoicing, expenses, budgets and business plans are respected
  • Ensure monitoring and control of accounts receivable

 

Administration and strategic planning:

  • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures in collaboration with the management team
  • Plan the equipment needs for the hospital
  • Prepare business plans and review them quarterly
  • Prepare a strategic plan annually
  • Write various reports and reports

Operations:

In collaboration with the management team in place:

  • Establish and implement best management practices
  • Support and help the teams for information needs, operational issues, resource planning, etc.
  • Ensure the optimization of operational activities through an efficient organization of the workspaces and practices of the different teams

Client Relations, Marketing and Communication:

  • Bring the teams together towards a constant improvement of the customer experience in line with the company's values ​​(in collaboration with the customer service coordinator)
  • Identify innovative ideas to promote the center, involving available resources

Any other related task

 

Skills:

  • Be able to work in a demanding environment where priorities change frequently
  • Ability to analyze complex financial reports and budgets
  • Have experience in managing several team leaders who each supervise an average of 25 employees
  • Have good time and priority management
  • Have an ability to adapt, stress tolerance, know how to delegate and coaching skills
  • Have a good sense of leadership and a good team spirit
  • Have the ability to adapt to change in an ever-growing industry

Requirements:

  • University degree in management/administration or any other related field (an asset)

  • Experience of more than 5 to 7 years in personnel management

  • Experience in a 24/7 environment (an asset)

  • Knowledge of the veterinary community (an asset)

  • Mandatory bilingualism (French/English)

  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows

  • Flexibility in terms of schedules

  • Management experience in a unionized environment (an asset)
